## Why it’s regulated

The EU prohibits isopropylparaben in cosmetics under Commission Regulation (EU) No 358/2014. The regulation says industry supplied limited or no safety data, so the human risk could not be evaluated, and from 30 July 2015 only compliant cosmetic products may be made available on the EU market.
